Give This Ramadan: Restore a Sacred Space and Feed Fasting Families
Ramadan is a time of faith, charity, and reflection—a month where the hearts of believers turn to generosity and service to those in need. It is a time when acts of Sadaqah (charity) and Zakat hold even greater rewards, bringing blessings not only to those who give but to entire communities.
As we enter this sacred time, we invite you to take part in Huda’s Ramadan Initiative, a community-led effort to restore a mosque in desperate need of repair and provide Iftar meals to fasting families struggling to find even the most basic sustenance.
Update: March 9, 2025
We are pleased to report that the restoration of the mosque is progressing well, thanks to the generous support from both our campaign and private donors. The bathroom construction is underway, with the installation of doors in progress. However, additional materials are still needed to complete this essential facility. Recent Expenditures: Water Pipes: 20 meters at 50 shekels per meter, totaling 1,000 ILS (approximately $275). Clay Pipes and Other Materials: Including contractor labor and logistical travel of supplies, totaling $325. Immediate Financial Needs: Water Tank: $1,200 Gate: $300 Tiles: $450 Cement Bags: $300 Cartons of Dates and Food for Iftar With Ramadan having commenced on March 1, we are now entering the second week of this holy month, which emphasizes the urgency of our efforts. Providing proper facilities and support for Iftar is crucial during this period of fasting and community gatherings. We are actively seeking additional grant funding to meet these pressing needs and ensure the mosque can fully serve its community during Ramadan. New photos and videos showcasing the ongoing bathroom construction will be uploaded shortly, providing a visual update on our progress. Thank you for your continued support and generosity.
Restoring Our Mosque: A Community's Call to Action
Our mosque, once a sanctuary of peace and unity, now stands in disrepair. Recent photos and videos reveal attendees praying amidst inadequate conditions—plastic chairs and a few mats serve as makeshift arrangements. Despite thorough cleaning efforts, the mosque lacks essential facilities, particularly a functional bathroom for ablution (wudu), crucial for daily prayers.

A House of Worship in Need
For years, this small community mosque has served as a center for prayer, learning, and gathering. But today, it stands in dire need of restoration to properly serve those who rely on it. The following repairs and renovations are urgently needed:
- Securing the Mosque – Protection and Safety
- A proper door and window bars to protect the mosque from intrusion and ensure security for worshippers.
- Structural reinforcements to maintain the stability of the building, preventing further deterioration.
- Enhancing the Prayer Experience
- New prayer rugs to replace worn-out, tattered mats so worshippers can pray in comfort and dignity.
- Lighting repairs to brighten the prayer space, ensuring a welcoming atmosphere for Fajr and Isha prayers.
- Restoring the Ablution Area & Building a Functional Bathroom
- Renovating the mosque’s bathroom so worshippers can perform proper Wudu before prayer.
- Installing a new water system to ensure a steady supply for ablution and hygiene needs.
- Building proper drainage infrastructure to prevent flooding and maintain sanitary conditions.
- Providing necessary fixtures such as sinks, faucets, and tiling to create a safe and clean space for worshippers.
- Revitalizing the Call to Prayer
- Installing a new loudspeaker to allow the Adhan (call to prayer) to be heard throughout the community, bringing people together in worship.
- Repairing the minaret structure to uphold the traditional significance of the mosque.
These restorations will revive the spiritual heart of the community, ensuring that it remains a place of peace, prayer, and reflection for generations to come.
Bathroom Installation for Ablution:
Necessity: A proper ablution area is vital for worshippers to perform the purification ritual before prayers. avenirdevelopments.com Requirements: Plumbing and Construction: Installation of water supply lines, drainage systems, and durable fixtures. Design Considerations: Separate areas for men and women, non-slip flooring, and accessibility features.
Fulfilling the Duty of Charity: Providing Iftar for the Needy
Beyond the mosque, the people in this community are enduring severe hardship. Families struggling through displacement, poverty, and food shortages have little means to provide for Iftar, the meal that breaks their fast each evening. The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: "Whoever gives food for a fasting person to break his fast, he will have a reward like theirs, without that detracting from their reward in the slightest." (Tirmidhi 807) By supporting this initiative, you are feeding the hungry, strengthening the bonds of the Ummah, and earning the multiplied blessings of Ramadan charity. Your donation will: ✅ Provide warm Iftar meals for fasting families who have no food for Suhoor or Iftar. ✅ Deliver essential food packages with rice, flour, dates, and cooking essentials. ✅ Ensure that worshippers can pray in dignity by completing the mosque restoration.
